Our take

This is Mentor Reisen's version of the Eagle's Nest day, and it runs differently from the Gray Line tour I cover separately: no hotel pickup, a walking tour of Berchtesgaden town, and cash required for the mountain fee1. Both tours end at the Kehlsteinhaus, built in 1937 and 1938 as a Nazi-era venue for political display for Hitler4.
